2.00″ Chemineer double mixer seal sent in for failure analysis & overhaul. The seal had Carbon rotary seal faces running against Silicon Carbide stationary seats. The product side rotary Carbon seal face had been severely worn by the abrasive product in the mixer unit. Robco of America recommended replacing this seal face with a Tungsten Carbide face. A new carbon atmospheric end face was machined. The seal unit was repaired & pressure tested to 100 psig prior to return to customer. Seal has been running for 12 months (normal life cycle was 4 months).
